This lockout device is often used in evictions, rentals, home sales, job sites and in-home, or on in-office storage room knobs to prevent others with keys from unlocking the door knob. The maximum diameter of a round knob that can be secured with this device is 2-7/16 in. outside diameter. This lock-out device will not work on knobs that are larger than 2-7/16 in. in diameter. Note that the shaft cut-out is oval/oblong in shape and measures 1-3/4 in. x 1-1/2 in., and it may fit loosely over some door knobs with round, slender shafts. Note: These lock-out devices are for use over keyed/locked door knobs to block access to the keyhole from others who may have keys to unlock the door.
